Stripe Terminal is a physical point-of-sale device that offers a seamless checkout and payment experience. Terminal is the best way to make in-person payments and is fully integrated with Sirvoy.

Before you use Stripe Terminal, ensure your Sirvoy and Stripe accounts are connected.

Stripe Terminal Hardware

Sirvoy supports Stripe’s WisePOS E reader, manufactured by BBPOS.

The WisePOS E reader is an Android-based smartPOS hybrid countertop/handheld reader with a 5-inch display. It supports PIN on glass and connects over a local network via Wi-Fi (ethernet connectivity requires the dock accessory). With a full charge, the reader battery lasts about eight hours.

Supported payment types:

  • Cards (magstripe, chip, and contactless)
  • Mobile Wallets (Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay)

The BBPOS WisePOS E Dock is the ideal way to keep the reader charged. It features a 10/100 Ethernet port, rubber feet for stability, and is designed for convenient docking and undocking. The dock is not required to charge the terminal or utilize Wifi.

It has a minimum power requirement of 5V-2A (10W) and includes a charging cable, which you can plug into any USB-A power adapter (not included). The dock’s charging cable must be USB-A to USB-C. The dock doesn’t work with a USB-C to USB-C connection.

Note: Only the BBPOS WisePOS E is currently compatible with Sirvoy.

Connecting the reader to the Internet

WisePOS E is a smart reader and its software communicates directly with Stripe through a Local Area Network (LAN). The reader must connect to the same local network as the computer, tablet, or another unit, on which you are running Sirvoy.

To connect to WiFi:

  1. On your WisePOS E, swipe right across the screen to access the settings menu.
  2. Select WiFi settings, choose the network, and connect.
    • Attempting to join a new network disconnects the reader from any existing wireless connection.

Your Wi-Fi network must use WPA-Personal or WPA2-Personal encryption and be password protected. The WisePOS E does not support non-password-protected networks, enterprise networks, and IPV6 networks.

Follow the troubleshooting steps to diagnose issues with IPV6 networks. If needed, you can set a static IP on the device from the Wireless settings screen.

Ethernet connectivity requires the use of the dock, which provides wired internet connectivity and keeps your smart reader fully charged using the included charging cable. You can purchase the dock separately through the Stripe dashboard. The dock features a 10/100 Ethernet port and rubber feet for stable countertop use.

The reader obtains an IP address using DHCP. As soon as the network cable is plugged in, the reader attempts to establish communication with Stripe.

Change the Reader’s Language

The BBPOS WisePOS E supports changing the reader language in the settings menu.

  1. On your WisePOS E, swipe right across the screen to access the settings menu.
  2. Tap “Language”, and select your preferred language.
