iDEAL is a Netherlands-based payment method that allows guests to complete transactions online using their bank credentials. This payment method on Stripe is limited to guests with a bank account that supports iDeal (see list here) and only available when payment is obligatory. To enable this payment solution in Sirvoy, the currency for your prices has to be EUR.

To use this payment method, take the following steps:

  • Activate iDEAL payment method on your Stripe account dashboard under Settings -> Payment Methods -> iDEAL, and click “Activate”.
  • In Sirvoy, go to Settings -> Payments & invoicing -> Card payments and click “Edit”. With Stripe selected as your payment method and payment set as obligatory, activate the “iDEAL payments” switch.

From the Stripe payment page, iDEAL will now appear as one of the available payment methods. A payer from the Netherlands will have the possibility of being redirected to the bank to log in and approve payments. Payments made via iDEAL can only be made in EUR.

Note: When iDEAL is enabled, it will still be possible for guests to pay with a credit card. However, the CC details will not be saved in Sirvoy, which prevents you from charging any remaining amount. We therefore only recommend activating iDEAL if you require full prepayment at the time of booking, or don’t wish to charge any remaining amount with the Stripe solution. However, any CC details received from sales channels will be saved for future charge, even if iDEAL is activated.
